Biashara Pawa
Elevating Women Entrepreneurs in Underrepresented Sectors
Biashara Pawa is a media and public engagement initiative under the IYBA-SEED programme, led by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. The project amplifies the voices and visibility of women entrepreneurs operating in sectors where women remain underrepresented, across Kisumu, Nakuru, and Uasin Gishu counties.
Dialogue Events
We conducted dialogue events across 3 counties to promote women’s participation in underrepresented sectors. The events brought together women entrepreneurs, youth, ecosystem support organizations, industry leaders, media, and policy actors to showcase role models, share experiences, and examine barriers and opportunities within priority sectors. Through dialogue and storytelling, the initiative strengthened visibility for women-led enterprises and advanced public conversations on inclusive entrepreneurship.

Biashara Pawa Role Models
The Biashara Pawa project identifies and profiles role models drawn from sectors where women are traditionally underrepresented but hold significant potential for growth and leadership. These role models comprise predominantly women entrepreneurs, alongside a small number of youth men, selected from Kisumu, Nakuru, and Uasin Gishu counties. Through their stories, the project amplifies real, community-rooted examples that inspire wider participation of women and youth in enterprise and challenge long-held narratives about who leads in these sectors.
